Revision of Ofsted Fees for Inspections of Independent Schools
Overview
We're seeking views on proposal to update The Independent Educational Provision in England (Inspection Fees and Savings Provisions) Regulations 2019.
Why your views matter
To charge a school the exact cost of inspections would create a scenario with high admin costs and little predictability for schools. The current solution therefore is to use a set of charging bands that charge as much as possible without overcharging any school in any given band but will inevitably fall short of the full cost recovery.
The policy objective is to move closer to full cost recovery whilst achieving a reasonable transition period for schools faced with higher fees, with increases that are affordable by the schools concerned.
