Review of the Industrial training board: Call for evidence
Overview
A call for evidence on the effectiveness of the Construction, and Engineering Construction, Industrial Training Boards (CITB and ECITB).
Why your views matter
The Construction, and Engineering Construction, sectors are key to the delivery of the UKs Social and Economic Infrastructure. A review of the Industrial Training Boards (ITBs) supporting these sectors was announced by thye Government when publishing the Post-16 Skills plan for England, launched in July 2016.
CITB and ECITB are Non-Departmental public bodies (NDPBs) funded by the industries they serve. The review is seeking evidence on the effectiveness of these bodies, and any role post introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy in 2017. This is not a review of Government policy on skills funding, but on the ITBs and their effectiveness in supporting skills development.
What happens next
The Industrial Training Boards Review Team wil be considering all the evidence submitted to the review and it will be used to inform recommendations on the future Industrial Training Boards to Ministers.
We will not respond seperately to those who have submitted evidence. The outcome of the review will be publiched on the Gov.uk website.
