Overview

We are seeking views on proposed changes to the Adoption and Children (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020.

Why your views matter

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to present significant challenges to the country, including the way children’s social care services are delivered. The amendments are temporary and will expire on 25 September 2020, we would like to extend a small number of these to manage future challenges. 

The first part of the document sets out the reason the amendments to the regulations were needed and what we have been doing to monitor the use of the flexibilities. The subsequent parts of the document sets out the regulations we would like to lapse and detail on those we propose to extend.

What happens next

The results of the consultation and the Department's response will be published on GOV.UK in Autumn 2020.
