Apprenticeships: Approving Draft Apprenticeship Standards

Overview

Apprenticeships are a key component of the growth agenda. The Government is keen that more high quality apprenticeships are created to meet the needs of employers and apprentices, and help drive up growth and productivity across the economy. This survey invites you to comment on new draft apprenticeship Standards submitted this month by our Trailblazer employer groups, before a decision is made on whether to approve them for further development and delivery.

How you can help

This short survey will take no more then ten minutes to complete. Your feedback will enhance the development of Standards submitted by our Trailblazers and help ensure that new apprenticeships are viable, high quality, and widely supported.

The survey seeks your views on:

  • Whether each draft Standard fully covers the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for full competence in the relevant occupation;
  • Whether the length and skill level of each draft Standard is substantive enough for the relevant occupation.

The draft Standards submitted this month are:

  • Senior Compliance/Risk Specialist
  • Rail & Rail Systems Principal Engineer
  • Rail & Rail Systems Senior Engineer
  • Rail & Rail Systems Engineer
  • IT Solutions Technician
  • Intelligence Analyst
  • Sales Executive
  • Construction Site Engineering Technician
  • Workboat Crew Member
  • Metal Recycling General Operative
  • Floorlayer
  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner
  • Level 7 Academic Professional
  • Specialist Tyre Technician
  • Mineral and Construction Product Sampling and Testing Operations

A copy of the draft Standard will download when you select the one you want to comment on in question 4. If you would like to comment on more than one Standard you will be prompted to do so once you have finished responding to the first.

What happens next

Your feedback will be considered as part of the assessment process for new apprenticeship Standards and help inform the final approval decision. A list of which Standards have been approved will be available on gov.uk once confirmed.

A new survey will be open from the last Friday of every month, inviting feedback on all draft Standards submitted that month.
